Fraudulent behaviour is on the rise

We are seeing increasing reports of fraudsters tricking businesses into downloading software which gives them access to your computer, enabling the fraudsters to make payments, and take money from your accounts.

In recent cases, fraudsters have also been found to be knowledgeable about the platforms used to make payments, allowing them to manipulate controls set by your organisation, resulting in devastating losses.

We have created the following video covering the threat, including the key things you should look out for. Please share this with your colleagues to ensure all iPortal users are aware and stay protected.

Please remember that Barclays will never do any of the following:

  1. Ask you to make payments or move money to a ‘safe account’.
  2. Call you and ask you to provide or enter your PIN or use your biometric device
  3. Take control of your computer, or ask you to download software from any site other than Barclays

If you receive a call similar to any of the scenarios described, please hang up, disconnect from the internet, and contact Barclays immediately to report it using a different phone line.
